Association Hosts Half-Day Workshop on New Regulations for Audit Professionals

On December 4, 2024, the Association of External Auditors organized a successful half-day workshop for its members' audit professionals at Nexus Hotel, focusing on the newly drafted regulations for accountancy and audit professionals' licensing and professional associations' accreditation. The event brought together audit professionals eager to gain insights into the regulatory changes and their potential impact on the industry.

During the workshop, the participants were allowed to discuss each article of the regulation as a group, and they shared their thoughts and concerns about the proposed changes and additions to the proposals included in the regulation.

In response to the valuable feedback gathered during the workshop, the association compiled all comments and suggestions from the participants. These were formally submitted to the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) for their review and consideration. Additionally, the association made a request to AABE for an in-person meeting, seeking more detailed discussions on specific concerns raised by participants.

The association emphasized that further engagement with AABE is crucial for refining the regulations and ensuring that the final policies align with the practical needs of audit professionals. The feedback attendees provide will play an important role in shaping the country's future of accountancy and auditing standards.
