The Association of External Auditors (AEA), in collaboration with the Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE), the Ethiopian Professional Association of Accountants and Auditors (EPAAA), and the Account Society of Ethiopia (ASE), successfully organized a joint plantation program followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 29, 2025.

The plantation program, held under the theme “IFRS Sustainability Standards for Advancing Green Ethiopia,” took place in Yeka Sub-City, near Ferensay Eyesus Church. The event brought together more than 100 accounting and auditing professionals, high-level AABE officials, and members of the three associations. Around 1,000 seedlings were planted, reflecting the profession’s commitment to environmental sustainability and national development.

The MoU signing ceremony was held the same day at the Ministry of Finance meeting hall, in the presence of association members. The agreement was signed by:

Mr. Fikadu – Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE)

Mr. Yirgu – Ethiopian Professional Association of Accountants and Auditors (EPAAA)

Mr. Daniel – Association of External Auditors (AEA)

Mr. Getinet – Account Society of Ethiopia (ASE)

In his remarks, Mr. Fikadu highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration within the boundaries of legal mandates, noting that such partnerships are essential for advancing the accounting and auditing profession. He also encouraged association members to actively support and participate in implementing the MoU.
